Pre-Competition

In an effort to spread awareness about the BEST program and gain experience and knowledge in other activities and organizations, the company participated in a number of activities and demonstrations prior to the beginning of the 2017 competition period.
Alabama Robotics Competition
Alabama Robotics Competition (04-08-17)
Four executive company members had the opportunity to participate in the Alabama Robotics Competition hosted by the University of Alabama. There, these students were able to learn how to solve problems under the pressure of time. In this manner, the team was able to learn time management skills which benefitted them in the competition season.   
Eastwood Christian School
Eastwood Christian School  (04-26-17)
In April, some of the leaders of GEARS were able to brief Eastwood Christian School on how our company works as well as show them our farming product from last year.
Homeschool Academic Fair
Homeschool Academic Fair (05-01-17)
One of our GEARS members was able to attend the local Homeschool Academic Fair in May and talked to homeschool students about the BEST program and about our company.
Coastal Alabama BEST Mini-Summer Workshop
Coastal Alabama BEST Mini-Summer Workshop

Several other students attended the BEST Mini-Summer Workshop, where they were able to learn about useful software and good programming in the robotics world. 
Air Force Information Technology Conference
Station 15 Fire Station Tour
​(08-08-17)

We recently visited the Montgomery Fire Station 15 for a tour of the station and an overview of the equipment used. We were also taught about fire safety and why firefighting is so important to the community. The firefighters at the station created the above video to promote our company and our work, which we intend to use to assist firefighters all across the country.

Air Force Information Technology Conference (08-30-17)
Members attended the Air Force Information Technology Conference and were able to listen to a technology seminar. The members were also able to visit the vendor floor where they saw a hexacopter that is able to assist firefighters in locating fires in buildings.
